GMG x Frye Boot Event Announcement!

4 min read

I’m so incredibly excited to announce another collaboration that’s been in the works with one of my favorite shoe brands, Frye Company. When Frye came to me last year and wanted me to re-design their Sabrina boot with them, I jumped at the chance! I’ve always looked at Frye as one of the best quality, Made in America brands for boots and leather goods. Their craftsmanship is incredible, so it was such an honor to be able to partner with them and bring a Gal Meets Glam boot to life.

Naturally, when I first presented my initial ideas, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, create a pink boot, but I was unsure if Frye would be open to doing something so feminine. I was over the moon when they loved the idea and it all snowballed from there. I wanted to bring in a ribbon lace to make the silhouette of the boot feel more delicate and add gold hardware as well. Finding the perfect shade of pink was key and in the end, we decided this dusty rose color was the one. It’s not in your face pink, making it much easier to wear and incorporate into a variety of outfits and color and combinations. I’ve been styling mine so many different ways and have a few looks coming to the blog next week to give you more inspiration. As a backup to the pink boot, we also made the boot in a beautiful taupe color. Even though we were initially only going to pick one color to make, the two prototypes came out so well that our teams couldn’t pick one over the other, so we made both. I’m glad that was the case because having these two options makes the boot perfect for anyone and everyone!

While the boots aren’t out yet – mark your calendars, as they launch next Thursday, October 26th – I wanted to announce that I’ll be hosting a celebratory event to kick-off the collaboration in NYC at Frye’s new flagship store (also opening next week!). The event will be from 7-9pm at 144 5th Avenue, where you’ll be able to shop the boots for the first time! And for those of you who can’t make the event, they’ll also be available to purchase on their website. See the above image for any additional information and feel free to RSVP to RSVP@thefryecompany.com

I can’t even begin to tell you guys how excited I am to finally reveal this project. The boots turned out so incredibly beautiful! We were all freaking out when we got the first samples earlier this year! Look out for more info on the blog on Monday and I hope I get to meet some of you at the event on Thursday!
