I’m so incredibly excited to announce another collaboration that’s been in the works with one of my favorite shoe brands, Frye Company. When Frye came to me last year and wanted me to re-design their Sabrina boot with them, I jumped at the chance! I’ve always looked at Frye as one of the best quality, Made in America brands for boots and leather goods.
I’m a bit of a shoe hoarder. I love shoes. But even with an array of colorful shoe styles, I often find myself gravitating back to the same loafers and flats for daily use. The reason is pretty simple – they’re comfortable, sturdy and stylish. While I love my Chanel and Chloe flats, my Sézane and Everlane loafers have been in my travel bag lately because they’re perfect for everyday wear.
Fall and the change of seasons brings the perfect opportunity to share a new reading list line-up. My favorite excuse to spend a relaxing day curled up with a favorite hot drink (currently apple cider for me), getting lost in someone else’s world. My list definitely has a common theme or two going on – historical settings, strong, brave women, and mystery mixed with suspense – my favorite genres.
This is the time of year when we focus on being thankful, celebrate fall harvests, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and more. I especially love the delicious smells of autumn. Simmering cinnamon sticks with apple slices and a dash of seasonal spice, freshly baked apple pie, homemade pumpkin bread, or a fragrant candle to set the mood.
While my favorite thing to wear is a dress, second runner-up is a skirt. I do wear jeans and slacks often, especially as the weather turns cooler, but skirts are so much more interesting. Not to mention, comfortable and versatile. I can create multiple looks with just one skirt, simply by switching-out my top, jacket and/or shoe style.
This summer we brought on two new employees to the Gal Meets Glam team! We’ve known we needed to grow our team for a while and were so thrilled to have found two amazing women who have brought so much joy and value to our business. As we continue to grow and expand Gal Meets Glam, it was important for us to take our time and find the right people.

I’m all about trying new things, especially when it comes to wearing new colors. And this season, I’m embracing shades of green, really for the first time. Though I’ve featured some green styles in past posts, this fall really marks the start of exploring more ways to incorporate this surprisingly versatile shade into my wardrobe.
Fall fashion inspiration is everywhere right now. One of my favorite times of year to layer on flattering, earthy tones, go leaf peeping and drink cider. Two designer looks filled with autumn love I recently posted include Fall Florals In Quebec City and GMG Now Daily Look 9-07-17. I’m in love with all the pieces in both posts and know I’ll be wearing them for months to come.
Natural neutrals for fall never go out of style. Soft knits, satiny silks, suedes, cashmeres and simple cottons – natural selects that exude an air of balance and calm. Chic and flattering in soft beige, tan, taupe, fawn, camel, sand or khaki whether solid or patterned – perfect foundation pieces for layering or wearing alone.
The start of a new season is a perfect reminder to clean-out my makeup bag. Even if products still look in mint condition, most actually have a limited shelf life. I definitely don’t want to risk getting a reaction to using old makeup, especially items used around my eyes. Makeup that’s not used as often, like eye shadows and lipsticks are most at risk.
The traditional work inspired pantsuit has rarely been on my radar in the past. Finding a flattering, not too stuffy option was always nearly impossible. But this season, I’m seeing so many new pieces that are changing my mind. Fitted cropped jackets with wide-leg pants, loose cut, over-sized or double-breasted blazers with slim-fitting slacks.
Wearing white styles into fall is easy in the South when the weather’s still warm outside. But as temperatures dip, transitioning white pieces can become a bit more challenging, especially on a budget. I brought several white styles on our recent trip to NYC, adding black and brown accents to counter the summertime vibe.
We are overwhelmed with sadness for those affected by the devastating flood conditions going on in Texas. So many need our help right now! Please consider making a donation to any organization helping with this massive undertaking. Any amount will make a difference. Donations of goods and services are needed as well and don’t forget our furry friends!
Date nights are something Thomas and I look forward to doing whenever we get the chance. We both believe in carving out time to focus on each other outside of work to continue to nurture and grow our relationship. Since fall marks the beginning of our busy season, we find it especially hard to schedule dedicated date nights in advance.
